Learning Tool
(feathuring Aqua-Dispersions)
Below are two quick examples of why we like dispersions. It is for the viewer to decide if something like this works for their personal creative process but we think it is a strong tool. In my own process using an assortment of mediums to paint with has brought great pleasure. I first discovered the dispersions discribed below becuase I was giving some instruction in my studio in Quebec and was looking for an easier why for the painters to use pigments in their waterbased techniques...Well! that was a discovery that opened up a new world of exploring. And made it fun, economical and at the same time forced me to 're-learn' a lot of basics. So take a peak and remember you can visit pigmentsplus.com to get small refreshers on basics that sometimes get forgoten...like: What is Paint?

So those were a bit boring but you may have found them informative...And that is what counts! Watercolor, Gouache, Egg Tempera, Acrylics all possible for the painter in a matter of seconds! Here is a Tip: watercoloor paper is really EXPENSIVE! But with a Tip comes a Trick: Generally if a painter makes a mess of a watercolor, the paper is discarded...but we find that it can be used the do Gouache (opaque) paintings over the top...And sometimes there is so much gouache that it is no longer workable. Yet when the gouache dries we can paint with a waterbased-shellac or acrylic on top! Trick 2, once that paint drys the paper now has a barrier that permits oil paint to be applied without hard to the paper (support)...So we try not to loss the materials. Rather we use the diversivity of our mediums to get the most for the dollar!
More tips & Trick will arrive on these pages so come back! Woodstains, Dry pigments, Waterbased Shellac, Natural binders, Egg-Oil Emulsion, Organic and Inorganic pigments and how you can use dispersions for All of these mediums, saving money, making your creative process more enjoyable and raising your confidence will have to wait for now!
